⚡ Why it’s great
National Trust properties always have something great to offer, and many have fantastic charging provisions.
Wimpole Estate is a beautiful property with gardens and a working farm. It’s ideal if you have time to spare for a walk and lunch.
Entrance to the gardens and parkland is £10 (£11 with gift aid). To tour the house as well, it’s £20 (£22 with gift aid). Of course, if you have a National Trust membership, it’s free to get in.
There are a lot of activities on (archery and tree climbing, for example!), and the summer schedule of evening theatre is making me consider another visit. It’s worth checking the website before you visit to see what fun things you might be able to catch.
✨ Experience
I was on my way to the Commercial Vehicle Show and wanted somewhere beautiful to stop and make the most of the weather. Wimpole Estate isn’t far off the A14, which was very convenient for my journey from Norfolk to Birmingham.
We stopped for just over two hours for about 60 extra miles of range. Plus a whole dose of vitamin D and lunch (jacket potato with cheese and beans). As a bonus, I also got to touch some horse noses. It was a winner all around.

Quick travel tip of the week
Slower chargers often live in more scenic, peaceful places. If you’ve got time, choose the 7kW charger by a beach over the 350kW next to a motorway.
