I’ve done a lot of road trips and learned early on that the journey is just as important as the destination. When I started making electric car content and later got my own EV, I leaned into slow travel.
This is where the idea of Charge Happy was born.
There are some fantastic motorway service stations with banks of chargers out there. They are convenient if you’re travelling for work or need a quick pitstop.
But they aren’t the only option.
Charge Happy is all about finding those chargers that offer something more. It might be better coffee, fewer people, a nearby activity, or a chance to explore off the beaten track.
We toyed with what this project should look like for a long time. For now, we want to keep things simple. So, you can look forward to a bi-weekly newsletter with handpicked charging stops and activities.
We’ll be sharing charging stops that offer something a little extra. Whether you love to hike, want to go shopping, or need something to entertain your passengers, we’ve got you covered.
Submit your own
I can’t do this alone! I’ll be including community submissions in each edition of the newsletter.
If you’ve found a charger with interesting things to do nearby, let us know using this Google form.
Thanks for coming on this journey with us.
